Muscle Weakness

Muscle weakness happens as adults age.  Loss of muscle mass due to aging is called Sacropenia.  Sacropenia causes decreased mobility performance with stairs, walking, balance and going from sitting to standing and vice versa.   After middle age, we can lose about 3% of our muscle strength making it harder to do what you want to do, from routine tasks to physically challenging activities.

Physical therapy helps to strengthen your body, curb muscle weakness, and minimize the risk of injury, disability, falls and joint break-down, leading to earlier onset of arthritis.  We'll develop a personalized treatment plan calibrated to you to be safe and effective to transition you to a healthy exercise routine.  As qualified physical therapists, we'll safely push you without going too far, but challenge you to get stronger through proper exercises. We help you maintain the muscle strength you need and keep the level of independence you want.
